It’s a hot and sweaty day in mid March...
The St. Patty’s Day parade had begun…
Two people find themselves in the same place neither had planned to be.
At this point in the day, Olivia is walking down Greenville Avenue.
Bobby, meanwhile, is working Greenville Avenue Response Team trying to control the heathens. Thousands of people are passing him by, but fate would not be denied.
Olivia loses her friends in the large crowd...
But, as chance would have it, she would soon find the one best friend she was to have for the rest of her life.
As Bobby was standing beside the street, Olivia starts to pass him by...
Bobby and Olivia's eyes meet for the first time...
Olivia turns away and continues walking...
Olivia turns around, and locks eyes with Bobby once again...
Bobby smiles as he asks, "You ok?"
Olivia reluctantly responds, "Uhh, yeah," as she turns away once again and thinks to herself (How dare he think I'm not ok...I can take care of myself...Just another cop using his uniform to hit on a girl...Don't turn around...Don’t turn around...Don't turn around.......................Although he does have an amazing smile....And that uniform is really cute............And he did seem sincerely concerned..........................CRAP!!!!!)
Olivia turns around, (a good 20 yards away at this point) thinking, (What am I doing??? Don't say a WORD)... as she yells "ARE YOU SINGLE?!!?!?!?!!!!!"
Bobby, (who was sensing Olivia's frustration) smiles and says, "Yes, I am actually."
"WHY??!!" Olivia yells over the noise of the crowd.
"Well I like to think it's because I'm pretty picky." Bobby explains to Olivia
Olivia finally approaches Bobby and asks, "You too picky for me?"
Bobby, genuinely impressed with Olivia's forthrightness, concedes, "No, you're pretty cute."
"Good, take my number," Olivia demands...(this was to be her first of many)
“Yes maam,” Bobby replies as he reaches for his notepad….
Its now been 670 days since this girl met this boy.
1 year, 9 months, 29 days since I found my love standing and waiting to keep me safe
57,888,000 seconds964,800 minutes
16,080 hours
95 weeks Since I've learned how to love loving someone.
I've always heard people saying that fairytales don't happen to people in real life. I disagree, my life is a real life honest to goodness fairytale of a girl who loves a boy who really loves her back. Life may not be easy or simple but I think it would be very boring if it didn't have it's ups and downs. Our life is never boring, weather good or bad we work together to get through situations and always find ourselves in the better.
The Peaks in the last two years:
~I learned the importance of not taking walking, brushing your hair, walking or moving with out pain, running, hiking, and feeling the mud between my toes from dancing in the rain for granteed
~I learned to never let my husband walk out the door with either of us upset.
~We got engaged
~I got married to my best friend!
~I had the most amazing honeymoon!
~We got to experience the love of a child no matter how short lived it was
~I have now seen a mountain
~I learned to make a list of things no matter how silly and make sure I do them
~I found a website called pinterest
~I have my own horse named Denali and she is the most wonderful horse anyone could ask for
~I painted a house for the first time with my husband and we had a paint war! :)
~My husband and I learned to trust God more than ever before
~I write down most of the laughs my husband and I share (I read them often)
~Finally convinced my husband to dance in the rain with me (the most magical moment in my life), I couldnt walk well after the accident so he picked me up and carried me.
There are so many wonderful moments that have changed my life in the last two years. I am blessed a grateful to have the life I have. Its not always unicorns and butterflies. We are human and have our moments but we learn to laugh through most of it. I wish I would have started this blog when we met, I'm hoping to make a few blogs now to play catch up and then we can continue our journey and hopefully one day our children will fill up most of the blog space. Stay tuned! :)
